Alexandre Autin lives in Nîmes, France. His practice is dedicated to the restoration of historical monuments and gardens.
He holds a degree in architecture from the Ecole Spéciale d’Architecture, Paris (1988), a degree in historic monuments restoration from the Ecole de Chaillot, Paris (2015) and a degree in historic gardens restoration from the Ecole Nationale d’Architecture, Versailles (2021).
He joined the archeological campaign for antiques survey at Terme di Elagabalo with La Sapienza Università, Roma in 2013.
Before he established his own practice, Alexandre Autin worked on significant projects at US Department of Energy in Berkeley, California and with architect Renzo Piano in Genoa, Italy.
The way Alexandre Autin restores monuments and gardens is a mixed approach of historical sources, esthetics and technical analysis.
He works in close relationship with Julien Véran, specialist in structural engineering, and Claire-Lise Creissen, art historian.

Award : Church, Les Angles
Autin Architecte was awarded 2021 Ruban du Patrimoine, Heritage Regional Prize for the restoration of the 15th century church in Les Angles, France.
Award : Laundry Building, Pont-Saint-Esprit
Autin Architecte was awarded 2017 Ruban du Patrimoine, Heritage National Prize for the restoration of the 19th century laundry building in Pont-Saint-Esprit, France.
