Part of a global study considering historical gardens in the south of France, this large garden used to be a hunting domain, property of François Gaspard Richer de Belleval, president of the Court of Finance of Montpellier. He commissioned architect Jean-Antoine Giral to build the castle. As a reminder of that time, some of the façade ornamentation and statues still refer to battles and hunts, privileges of the nobility.
On the north side of the castle there is a double entrance court. To the south lays the main garden that was mostly remodeled in the 19th century. Some of the oldest buildings are located on the east side with the Chapel, the orangery and the vegetable garden.
